What to see and do in Alvorninha

With around four thousand inhabitants, Alvorninha is eleven kilometers from Caldas da Rainha. This parish has a strong agricultural nature and it was precisely here that the first agricultural school in the country was founded.

Among many other things, you can visit the Alvorninha parish church and see its Manueline portal as a set of tiles that shows the visit of our first king - D. Afonso Henriques.

It was the seat of the municipality from 1210 to 1836, thus showing its importance in the regional context.
