From Parque D. Carlos I and the Mata Rainha D. Leonor woodland to the skate park, the Óbidos Lagoon and Foz do Arelho beach: where to play sport in Caldas da Rainha.

Caldas da Rainha has the natural setting and the facilities to make it a great place for sport. From running in the park to skateboarding, from kitesurfing on the lagoon to bodyboarding at the beach, there is something for every taste and level.
With family, as a couple or with friends, Caldas da Rainha is a good choice for a holiday, a weekend or a day trip with an active twist.
Sport in the city: park and woodland

In the city centre you can go for a run in Parque D. Carlos I, one of the most beautiful parks in Portugal, where the greenery surrounds a large lake. In summer you can hire a rowing boat on the lake.
Right next to it, the Mata Rainha D. Leonor woodland has several trails for running, walking or doing a workout in the shade of the trees.
Skate park
The skate park is on Rua Vitorino Fróis, on the old road between Caldas da Rainha and Foz do Arelho.
Free to use, it was built for fans of action sports such as skateboarding, BMX and inline skating.
Foz do Arelho and the Óbidos Lagoon

Less than 10 kilometres from the city is Foz do Arelho, with the Óbidos Lagoon and a long sandy beach.
You can run with the lagoon or the ocean as a backdrop but, above all, try water sports: paddleboarding, kitesurfing, canoeing, windsurfing, surfing or bodyboarding. If you want to learn to sail, the Escola de Vela da Lagoa sailing school is in Nadadouro.

For surf, bodyboard or skate gear, Surfoz Surfshop is in Caldas da Rainha.
Group running and walking

The “Não Fazemos Nem Mais 1…Km” running group takes to the city streets, running or walking, come rain or shine.
No registration is needed: just turn up with water, a light and plenty of energy. Check upcoming sessions on the group’s Facebook page.
