Céu de Vidro in Caldas da Rainha
The Céu de Vidro (“Glass Sky”) links Largo Rainha D. Leonor, known locally as Largo do Termal, to Parque D. Carlos I in Caldas da Rainha, along a covered walkway of iron and glass.
It is decorated with impressive wrought-iron work; the dragon-shaped lamps are the finest examples.
Coming from the Thermal Hospital, it is the best way into Parque D. Carlos I.
In the heyday of the spa it was part of the Clube de Recreio, founded in 1837, where the bathing elite gathered. Today it regularly hosts cultural activities.
