Ceramics Museum at Caldas da Rainha
The Ceramics Museum at Caldas da Rainha, is housed in a 19th century mansion accompanied by a green garden filled with tiles and sculptures.
This noble space has a collection of collections representative of the city’s production and other ceramic centers in the country and abroad. The collections comprise pieces from the old Caldense pottery from the XVII and XVIII centuries (Real Fábrica do Rato) and production centers from the XIX and first half of the XX century.
The works of barrista Maria dos Cacos, author of anthropomorphic utilitarian pieces, and of Manuel Mafra, are noteworthy.
Also in the Museum of Ceramics, you can find pieces by the also famous master Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, artistic director of the Ceramics Factory in Caldas da Rainha.
