Together with Casa Bernardo, the Bernardo Museum is one of two contemporary art spaces run by the PBernardo Association.

Founded by Pedro Bernardo and opened in 2007, the museum regularly shows the association’s collection and also promotes other Portuguese and international artists working in a wide range of visual arts.

In Pedro Bernardo’s words, the museum is devoted to “supporting, defending and promoting contemporary art, through exhibitions, programmes, artist residencies and international exchanges; supporting individual and collective creation; and creating spaces with a social, cultural and civic role”.
