We then continue on to discover another Templar gem: the castle of Almourol. This medieval castle is located in the middle of an island in the River Tagus, and was a bastion of the defensive line of the Christian reconquest.

The Route:

We’ll start our tour with the castle of Tomar, followed by a visit to the imposing Convent of Christ, where we’ll highlight the Charola. Then we move on to Almourol Castle.
