D. Carlos I Park in Caldas da Rainha
D. Carlos I Park in Caldas da Rainha is one of the pearls of the city.
Its privileged position right in the center makes it a space full of energy and experience.
When visiting the Park you will see the Park Pavilions, an imposing architectural work that, when mirrored in the artificial lake, creates space to take unique photographs.
Continuing, here you can see the works of the naturalist painter José Malhoa or the master Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro – A Paixão de Cristo, at the José Malhoa Museum, the first project building in Portugal for museological purposes only was in the year 1940.
In the middle of spring or summer you can rent a rowing boat, so you can take a stroll around the artificial lake of the Park.
In the gardens you can find statues of Leopoldo de Almeida, Soares dos Reis or Franco, the author of the statue of Queen Dona Leonor who is at the gates of the city.
Among others, you can also visit the Céu de Vidro and the Aldeia dos Macacos by Bordalo Pinheiro. Inside the Park you have spaces to be able to have picnics, terraces and children’s playground
